Erica Ash, who was well-known for her role in BET Network’s Real Husbands of Hollywood, has died after losing her longtime battle with cancer, according to her publicist. She was 46.
On Sunday, July 28, Ash died in her Los Angeles home, her publicist Elizabeth Much told The Hollywood Reporter. No other details of her death have been revealed at this time.
Her family has released a statement in Ash’s honor

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend Erica Chantal Ash (1977-2024). After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones,” the statement began.
“Erica was an amazing woman and talented entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor, and genuine zest for life. Her memory will live eternally in our hearts,” it concluded.
Ash was well known for various comedic movies and TV shows
Embed from Getty ImagesHer career began as a regular on The Big Gay Sketch Show from 2006 to 2007. Later, she landed a spot on Fox’s Mad TV, a comedy sketch show. Ash also appeared in Scary Movie V and BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood, a play on reality TV franchises. In addition, Ash played a role in Survivor’s Remorse and In Contempt.
She was born and raised in Florida but moved around often, as Ash was the daughter of a military family. Her acting career began when she attended a performing arts school in Atlanta, Georgia.
Colleagues and friends have also shared tributes to Ash
Comedian Loni Love shared a photo montage on Instagram, writing in her caption:
“I am sad to confirm my friend and fellow actress Erica Ashe’s passing…. Erica was talented and hilarious whether it was the show Survivor’s Remorse or Madtv she would put her all into her work,” she wrote. “She would always just be there.. now she’s gone.. My sincere condolences to her family and fans.”
In Ash’s honor, her family is asking the public to donate to a cancer foundation

“In honor of Erica’s memory, the family asks that any donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation or the Breast Cancer Foundation of your choice,” they wrote. “We are grateful for the kind expressions of love and support during this difficult time.”
