Channing Tatum and Zo? Kravitz have broken off their engagement after three years of being together.
The Magic Mike actor and Big Little Lies actress had been engaged for a year before recently going their separate ways. The actors had met in the industry and worked together, but it seems that they prefer being co-stars over romantic partners.
They first became a pair three years ago
Channing Tatum, 44, and Zo? Kravitz, 35, first appeared to the public as a pair in 2021 before getting engaged two years later in 2023.
The former couple are said to have begun dating on the set of the film Blink Twice, Kravitz’s directorial debut.
The two were engaged in 2023
Kravitz had shown up with Tatum and an engagement ring on her finger at Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party in October last year.
Their engagement was confirmed by the Magic Mike star in that same year after posting an image of their Halloween costumes with Kravitz sporting the ring.
Tatum and Kravitz shared time on set
Channing Tatum starred in Blink Twice, Kravitz’s feature directorial debut film where their relationship was strengthened on set.
“He really was my protector and it was really wonderful and sweet,” The Batman star had told GQ on the time the two had together.
The actor also enjoyed working with Kravitz
The Step Up star shared that “it was so hard to make the movie. Probably one of the hardest movies that I’ve worked on… for a lot of different reasons.”
He followed by stating that working with Kravitz, someone he loves, was all he needed to feel at ease.
The collaboration was a great experience
When talking about his worry regarding the film, Tatum continued, “When you can look across the room or the set and know that you have the best person that is next to you trying to solve problems, and you’re really looking to them for answers just as equally as trying to solve them yourself, that is unbelievable.”
Tatum had suggested that this is a good exercise for couples
When asked about working with his then-partner on set, Tatum stated, “This is what I’ll say about creating with someone that you are with or love: I suggest it.”
The two clearly bonded while working on Blink Twice as the director, Kravitz, also agrees with him.
Kravitz praised Tatum as a person and an actor
The Batman star reiterated Tatum’s statements on the collaboration telling People, “art is our love language.”
As she was talking about Tatum and the film, Kravitz continued, “I think it’s what we love, and we love talking about it, and experiencing it, and supporting each other.”
This wasn’t going to be the actors’ first marriage
Both Tatum and Kravitz had been married once before getting engaged to each other. The Step-Up actor was married to his co-star Jenna Dewan, with whom he had a daughter.
Kravitz was married to actor Karl Glusman before splitting up in 2021.
They had highly praised one another
Kravitz admitted that she had written the Blink Twice character with Tatum in mind, “Chan was my first choice, the one I thought of when I wrote this character.”
She reiterated, “I got the sense he’s a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter.”
Although reportedly separated, the pair make good art together
Tatum and Kravitz have a history of making good art. Blink Twice came out in August this year if you still haven’t seen it.
And the two are said to be among those starring in the upcoming comedy Alpha Gang, produced by Cate Blanchett.
